What A Year!
Last year at this time, our family had no idea how challenging this past year was going to be. We emerge from this year with a concrete example of how God sees his people through difficult times. We don’t know what will happen in the new year, but we know we go forth with God’s help and blessing.
We will be having our Annual Voters’ Meeting on Sunday, January 26. This meeting will take place immediately following our worship service. We will be holding our election for church offices in this meeting. In the weeks leading up to the meeting, our Nominating Committee will be contacting members to see if they’re interested in serving. If they contact you, please consider serving your congregation.
One thing that the students of FVL do to help break the winter doldrums is by offering you a chance to have a pleasant afternoon by hearing some music, eating some good food, and enjoying some Christian fellowship. They do that by putting on their Music Fest. This year, Winterfest will take place on Sunday, January 26, from 11:00 AM until 5:00 PM. You can get tickets in advance at the FVL office.
Pastor Lillo will be out of town on January 21 and 22 on a matter of personal business. Because of this, we will not be having midweek services on that week.
This month, we will be continuing our Bible Study on some of the short books of the Bible. We will start the year with a look at the book of Jonah. All are invited to these classes.
As always, keep in mind all of the regular things that take place in any given month.
We have the wonderful opportunity to bring the Word of God to the residents of Brewster Village This month, our day of service is January 6. If you want to help, please come around 9:30 on that day.
The students of Immanuel Lutheran School in Greenville have a special children’s service every Friday at 8:15 AM. All are invited.
